About Us

The Republic of South Sudan Information Commission is an independent, self-governing, and neutral body which is not subject to directions or controls of any person(s) or authority. It is a corporate entity with a common seal and perpetual succession capable of taking legal actions and being sued in its name.

The Information Commission enhances good governance through enhancing transparency, accountability, integrity in public service and administration, participation of persons in public affairs, including exposing corruption, to recognize the right to access to information.

What we Do

Our purpose is to uphold information rights in the interest of the public. We give effect to the constitutional right of access to information; promote maximum disclosure of information in the public interest; establish effective mechanisms to secure that right and provide for incidental matters.
